Curriculum vitae
Goran Bandov was born in Osijek (Republic of Croatia)
in 1976 and studied Law, International Relations
and Political Science at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer
University in Osijek, the University of Zagreb
and the University of Hamburg. He finished his
Law studies in 2003 as Dipl.-Jurist with a thesis
on “The implementation of the protection
of minority rights in the modern plural European
community”. In 2005 he earned his M.P.S.
in the postgraduate study programme “Master
of Peace and Security Policy Studies” in
Hamburg with a thesis on “The implementation
of national law and international instruments
for the protection of national minority in the
education system in the Republic of Croatia”.
From October 2005 through January 2009 he was
a PhD candidate at IFSH. In January 2009, he earned
his Dr. phil. at university of Hamburg about the
topic „Protection of national minorities
in Republic of Croatia as instrument for prevention
of escalation of the ethno political conflict.”
He is a member of the „Democratic Leadership
Programme“ organized by the Council of Europe,
the “Academic Network South East Europe”
and the “Nachwuchskräfte für Europa”.
In his scientific and political work he has been
supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange
Service), CENTURIO, the Robert Bosch Stiftung,
Open Society – SOROS and the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung.
