Research interest
Democratisation; Foreign policy analysis; Russia's foreign policy in the countries of Central Asia Central Asia: Geopolitics, Democratisation, Civil Society Development of Diplomatic Elites; Sociology of Diplomacy; Elite Studies
Background
Diana Digol has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence. Before that she studied at the Diplomatic Academy, Vienna, SAIS-Johns Hopkins University, Bologna and the Central European University, Budapest. She has worked in various capacities with the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice, the European Commission in Brussels, the United Nations Office in Vienna, the Organization for Security and Co-operation, the World Bank and the National Bank of Moldova.

Current project
She is currently involved in a number of projects on democratic institution building and the training of diplomatic officials from countries of the former Soviet Union.
