Elena Kulipanova, M.A., M.P.S.

Research interest
Central Asia, foreign policy, theory and practice of regional cooperation, multilateral institutions

Background
Elena Kulipanova studied International Relations at the Abai State University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and obtained a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Communication and European Studies in Fulda. In 2007 she received an MA in Peace and Security Studies from the IFSH at the University of Hamburg. Elena Kulipanova has been a Doctoral candidate at CORE/IFSH since September 2008, funded by a joint scholarship from the DAAD and the Open Society Institute (OSI). Since 2007 she has also been a steering committee member of the MPS Alumni Society at the IFSH.

Multilateral cooperation in and with Central Asia: Reciprocal adaptation and learning processes in cooperation relations between international institutions (EU and ADB) and Central Asian States (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan).
