Research interest
Peace research, international and European security
policy. |
Background
Born in 1938. Served 3 years of military service.
Studied political science, sociology and contemporary
history. Doctorate: “Problems of analysis,
criticism and control of military power”.
Postdoctoral study: “Conventional Disarmament
in Europe”. From 1966 to 1984: tutor, assistant
and assistant professor at the Institute for International
Politics and Regional Studies at the Free University
of Berlin. Since 1984, he has worked as research
advisor, and deputy research director of the IFSH.
From 1992 until 2008 co-editor of the Peace Report,
the yearbook of the five leading German peace
