The IFSH library is a specialized scientific library with a collection focusing primarily on peace research., security policy, European security, arms control, international organizations and related areas. It also includes an OSCE depository library in which all relevant documents of the OSCE, literature about the OSCE, relationships between majorities and minorities, as well as national studies on Southeastern Europe and Central Asia are held.
The IFSH Library is primarily open to scholars, PhD students and the students of the MPS program. However, the library may also be used by students of the University of Hamburg and the interested public.
At present the collection comprises about 30,000 monographs and bound journals, as well as 120 current national and international journals.
