Theories and concepts of transnational risks of violence: Security Governance
Transnational risks of violence force state, supranational and societal actors into more cooperation and management coordination. Security governance is understood in the research cluster in the broadest sense as a non-hierarchical concept of management coordination (more or less) among autonomous actors in security-relevant areas. The goal of this coordination is to reach a common goal on the basis of common norms, values and/or interests.
In the focus of the studies in this research cluster are structures, mechanisms, instruments and effects of this management coordination, as well as the question of whether these new policy forms make the actors better able to be flexible and effective in reacting to the new challenges and changed conditions.
