Baudissin Documentation Centre

On 22 November 2001 the Commander of the German Armed Forces Staff College, Major General Beck, signed an agreement stating that the estate of Lieutenant General Professor Count Wolf von Baudissin would be permanently exhibited at the German Armed Forces Staff College, opened to the public and preserved. Through this agreement, the Baudissin Documentation and Research Centre was established in Hamburg where the Count had been active for over fifteen years. According to the deputy General Inspector’s wishes, members and programme participants, in particular, can also participate in this research project. With the support of the German Armed Forces Staff College, Lieutenant Colonel (rtd.) Dr. Freiherr von Rosen is the honorary dean of the Baudissin Estate. The estate is comprised of written documents as well as audio and visual media which belonged to the Count and other deposits made by colleagues and friends. The estate is stored in the Lieutenant General Count Wolf von Baudissin barracks in Building 23724, room 31, 39 and 40. The rooms reflect the authentic atmosphere in which the Count Wolf von Baudissin spent his time working; and they are partly furnished with the original furniture and articles of daily use that belonged to the Count.

Admission to the Baudissin Documentation Centre premises is only possible with prior notification.
