Vita
Lisa Neal has been a Non-Resident PhD Fellow and lecturer at the IFSH since 2022. She is pursuing her doctorate at the University of Hamburg and works as a research associate at the Institute for Theology and Peace, focusing on security ethics. Before joining academia, she worked as a journalist specializing in West Asia. She studied „Sociology, Politics and Economics (SPE)“ at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen and „Peace and Security Studies“ at the Universität Hamburg.
Research profile
In her doctoral dissertation, Lisa Neal examines the gender-specific effects of targeted sanctions using Iran as a case study, analyzing how political measures impact different groups within society. As part of her research, she has also conducted fieldwork in Armenia, Canada and Turkey.
