The Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg has admitted five new full members: Prof. Dr Chris Biemann (Language Technology, University of Hamburg), Prof. Dr Inke R. König (Medical Biometrics and Statistics, University of Lübeck), Prof. Dr Ulrike Kornek (Environmental and Resource Economics, Kiel University), Prof. Dr Fabian H. Leendertz, (One Health, University of Greifswald / Director of the Helmholtz Institute for One Health) and the Scientific Director of the IFSH, Prof. Dr Ursula Schröder.
Academy President Prof. Dr Mojib Latif welcomed the newly appointed members during a festive ceremony celebrating the Academy's 20th anniversary. The institution currently brings together 145 outstanding scientists from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
The Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg serves a hub for top researchers in northern Germany, promoting collaboration across disciplines, universities, and scientific institutions. It supports research on socially relevant future issues and fundamental scientific questions, while also making it a priority to promote dialogue between science and the public.
