Vita
Prof. Dr. Ursula Schröder has been Director of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) and Professor of Political Science at the University of Hamburg since 2017. Previously, she was Professor of International Security at Freie Universität Berlin. Currently, she leads projects at IFSH and University of Hamburg that address the nexus between security and climate futures; democratic promises of security in a new era; international policing and security sector reform; and participatory research on security policy. She studied at Humboldt University and Freie Universität Berlin, as well as at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (UK), and completed her doctorate at the European University Institute in Florence.

Ursula Schröder’s research focuses on shaping peace and security orders in a world of multiple crises. Her current research topics include:
