Dr Sabine Mokry, Postdoctoral Researcher at IFSH, has been selected as a Fellow of the Young Academy at the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg, alongside nine other outstanding junior researchers. As a Young Academy Fellow, she will participate in the Academy’s working and project groups and contribute to its activities by organising her own events and initiatives. The new Young Academy Fellows will officially be welcomed at the Academy’s Annual Celebration in Hamburg on 26 November.
The ten new fellows were selected by the Committee for the Promotion of Early-Career Researchers through a complex and multi-stage evaluation process. The three-year fellowships begin in September and run for three years. They give young researchers a platform to address scientific issues in an interdisciplinary way outside traditional academic structures. Alongside intellectual and financial support, the Academy offers fellows the space and freedom to develop new research approaches. In doing so, the Academy serves as a dynamic forum and network for cross-regional and cross-generational academic exchange.
About the Young Academy Fellowship Programme:
The Young Academy Fellows Programme of the Hamburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities has been supporting outstanding young scientists since 2020. The programme is aimed at young researchers at universities and non-university institutions in northern Germany and provides them with financial and intellectual support through project funding, individual guidance, expert advice, mentoring, and networking. The fellowships typically last three years and are designed to strengthen independent research, promote interdisciplinary exchange, and support the career development of the fellows.
