International Cybersecurity (ICS)

Research Focus

Global conflicts increasingly permeate cyberspace, with international cybersecurity therefore becoming a core building block of foreign and peace policy. The team researches how escalations in cyberspace can be avoided or conflict regulated. In doing so, different political and technical approaches are brought together in interdisciplinary work. Results and findings are then communicated to the scientific and political community, as well as the interested public. The research focus is funded by the Federal Foreign Office until the end of 2024 and centres on three areas:

  • Research on security-political "global governance" in cyberspace
  • Analysis and knowledge transfer of new technological and political trends
  • Networking with academia and industry
