Vita
Louise is a postdoctoral researcher at IFSH and academic coordinator of the Promise of Security in Catastrophic Times research unit. She previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Tampere University, Finland on the Central and Eastern European Security Hub Horizon Twinning project, and Sustainable Security Practices projects. Louise holds a PhD from Aberystwyth University, UK and spent a semester at the Centre for International Studies and Research (CERIUM) at the University of Montreal. During her PhD, she also worked as a Seminar Tutor and as a Postgraduate Research Assistant on the UKRI Network+ Creating Safer Space project.
Research profile
Louise’s research is largely concerned with the political embodied, spatial, and temporal politics of violence and nonviolence. Her previous research explored the practice of Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). She currently studies war preparedness in the Nordic states, with a focus on Finland and Sweden. Empirically, Louise is interested in the curations of (non)violence, particularly in museum settings.
